Japan Kampo Medicines Manufacturers Association (JKMA)
Japan Kampo Medicines Manufacturers Association (JKMA) was established on July 21, 1983 by domestic manufacturers and distributors (including importers) of Kampo products and crude drug products derived from crude drug, as well as other businesses associated with raw materials for crude drug.
Based on the close cooperation among its members, JKMA provides continuous and stable supply of high-quality Kampo formulation, crude drug formulation, and crude drug. By enhancing its roles and functions, JKMA aims to contribute to the growth of pharmaceutical industry and the promotion of national health by disseminating, embedding and developing Kampo formulation, crude drug formulation, and crude drug.
As an industrial body, JKMA is affiliated with the Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Associations of Japan (FPMAJ), an organization representing all pharmaceutical industries in Japan.
As of July 1, 2020, JKMA has 63 member companies.

Tokyo Crude Drug Association (TCDA)
The purpose
A public-interest corporation, Tokyo Crude Drugs Association (TCDA) aims to ensure the promotion of high-quality crude drugs, in conjunction with the development and improvement of the crude drug industry to contribute to the improvement of public health, to contribute to the public welfare. We are continuing activities for the purpose, since its establishment in 1953.
Member
As of July 2021, TCDA is composed of 137 members with cooperate, individual, and supporting categories, including those from pharmacies, individuals, etc., mainly in pharmaceutical companies and crude drug wholesalers.
Business and activities
In order to conduct the business specified in the articles of corporation, we have established committees of general affairs, academic, public relations, medicinal plant botanical business management, medicinal plants domestic cultivation business committee. Major activities of TCDA are the following.
1. Holding an herbal observation meeting
2. Organizing a medicinal herb gathering appreciation society
3. Holding social gathering on crude drugs
4. Holding lectures and workshops
5. Cooperation with the Japanese Pharmacopoeia Original Plan Deliberation
6. Publish a newsletter
7. Promotion of dissemination of OTC drugs and self-medication
8. Interaction with overseas affiliates related to crude drugs etc.
9. Business management of Tokyo Metropolitan Botanic Garden
10. Medicinal Plants Domestic Cultivation Project

Japan Natural Medicines Association (JNMA)
On March 12, 1975, the Japan Natural Medicines Association (JNMA) was established to contribute to the sound development of natural medicines industries and the improvement of public health and hygiene. JNMA is composed of the six regional organizations that: Honcho Branch of Natural Medicines Association (Tokyo), Aichi Prefectural Branch of Natural Medicines Association (Nagoya), Keiji Branch of Natural Medicines Association (Kyoto), Hokuriku Branch of Natural Medicines Association (Toyama) , Kobe Branch of Natural Medicines Association (Hyogo), Osaka Branch of Natural Medicines Association (Osaka).
Major JNMA activities are for the following purposes.
・Research necessary issues to promote medical treatments by crude drugs
・Gather fair demands from members and strive to realize them
・Promote mutual friendship among members
・Promote the common benefits of members
Currently, the federation consists of 33 companies belong to 4 associations: Honcho Branch of Natural Medicines Association, Aichi Prefectural Branch of Medicines Association, Keiji Branch of Natural Medicines Association, and Osaka Branch of Natural Medicines Association.
